Tate Exchange – Digital Ascetic

I will be presenting my research at Tate Exchange in Liverpool on Monday the 16th of January at 1pm.

I’ll be talking about how asceticism can be a useful part of a digital practice. To get to this we need to look at how asceticism has been co-opted and altered to mean something else, something less useful and more manipulative. We will talk about the largest roundabout in the world (a favourite topic of mine), St Francis of Assissi, thousand year old trees, and the state of Steve Jobs apartment in 1982, amongst other things. Come along.
